** February 16, 2018: Getting Ready for The Wall

"I am here to tell you, this band is AWESOME, they have this show and music worked out to perfection! The music, the lights, and the whole experience is plain and simply.... as good as it gets! If you ever get the chance to experience this show, you will NOT be disappointed!"
- Neil Lang, Manager, Marion Ross Center

Hello Everyone!
As is typical with this band, a lot has happened over the past couple of weeks. We have been interviewing folks to join our crew, we have been booking shows, we are getting additional lighting together to expand our light show, getting a new truck, ramping up for The Wall ballet, etc. Your love and support are very much appreciated. We couldn't do it without you! Here are a couple of highlights from the past couple of weeks=2E

** WHAT'S HAPPENING

** Getting Painted Up by Jimmy Longolia

We were very honored to have our stage clothes for The Wall rock ballet painted by one of the country's premier artists -- Jimmy Longolia. Jimmy is doing all of the stage and costume artwork for The Wall ballet. He is a brilliant artist whose works hang in galleries and private collections all over the country. It is cool to be wearing a collectible piece of artwork!

** Tale of Two Trucks!

An incredibly generous gift from a friend and supporter of Run Like Hell has made it possible for us to purchase another truck. This will allow us to transport all of our lighting, trussing, and power in one truck, and all of our sound system and instruments in the other. Words fail to adequately convey the level of gratitude that we feel. Gifts like this redouble our commitment to putting on the best show that we possibly can!

** The Wall Ballet Update

Friday and Saturday nights are completely sold out. There are a few seats left on Thursday night, and the matinee show is quickly selling out as well.

This is going to be a very cool show. This will be the first time in the United States that Pink Floyd's The Wall will be performed by a professional ballet company with a live band performing the music. Pink Floyd did it in Italy and Germany back in the 1970s.

** Other News

* First Casino Show in Iowa. We have been booked at Diamond Jo's Casino and Resort in Dubuque, IA on March 24th. This will be our first trip into Iowa and the first time performing on the stage at a casino. We are very much looking forward to the show. If you are in the area, come down and enjoy the show!

* Crew Interviews. The response for our Craigslist ad looking for crew was extremely strong. We received multiple contacts per day from people who are interested, and of those, have picked two candidates as provisional crew members (we typically like to work with someone for about a month before we take them on as an official crew member).

** MEET THE BAND

** Bill Ferguson, Stage Manager

There are two things about this photo that make it quite remarkable:  1)  Bill is sitting, and 2)  Bill is eating. Bill is one of the most dedicated, hardworking, and amazing human beings that we have ever met. He is responsible for setting up, tearing down, and transporting our show. And during our performance, he is also managing the crew, making sure that everything runs smoothly on stage, making sure that the band can navigate through the dark backstage area when we are not on stage, and that every wire is wrapped correctly before it is packed away. This guy has an engine that just won't quit. We have shown up at the studio the day after a show, and Bill has yet to go to sleep from the night before.  This show simply would not be possible without the superhuman strength and talent of this guy!

** UPCOMING SHOWS

This year is going to be a breakout year for Run Like Hell. New shows are being added to our schedule every week. Please take a moment to check out our upcoming show calendar on our website. THANK YOU AGAIN FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
